How to delete your Babelize account and what happens to your data.

Account Deletion

You have the right to delete your Babelize account at any time. This document explains the process and its effects.

Before Deleting

Consider These First

  1. Export your data - Download translations you need
  2. Cancel subscription - Avoid future charges
  3. Inform team members - If you own a workspace

What Cannot Be Recovered

Once deleted, you cannot recover:

  • Account access

  • Translation history

  • Glossaries

  • Projects

  • Usage history

Deletion Process

Personal Accounts

  1. Go to SettingsAccount
  2. Scroll to Danger Zone
  3. Click Delete Account
  4. Enter your email to confirm
  5. Click Permanently Delete

Workspace Owner

If you own a workspace:

  1. Transfer ownership first, OR
  2. Delete the entire workspace

To transfer ownership:

  1. Go to Workspace SettingsTeam
  2. Select a new owner
  3. Click Transfer Ownership
  4. Confirm transfer

We may retain certain data as required:

Workspace Deletion

If you're a workspace owner:

  1. Go to Workspace SettingsDanger Zone
  2. Click Delete Workspace
  3. Type workspace name to confirm
  4. Click Permanently Delete

Effects:

  • All projects deleted
  • All members removed
  • Subscription cancelled
  • Cannot be undone

Cancellation vs Deletion

Cancel Subscription

  • Account remains active
  • Drops to Free plan
  • Data retained per Free plan limits
  • Can upgrade later

Delete Account

  • Account permanently removed
  • All data deleted
  • Cannot be recovered
  • Must create new account to use again

Verification

After deletion:

  • Login attempts fail

  • Projects inaccessible

  • No confirmation email sent

GDPR Right to Erasure

This deletion process fulfills GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure):

  • Upon request
  • Without undue delay
  • With confirmation of completion

Reactivation

Not Possible After Deletion

Account deletion is permanent. To use Babelize again:

  1. Create a new account
  2. Start fresh with new projects
  3. No data from previous account

Alternative: Temporary Suspension

Contact support to temporarily suspend instead:

  • Data preserved
  • Access disabled
  • Can reactivate later
