Translation Quality

Quality depends on the language pair and on the translator. Widely used languages (Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and the like) give the best results with every translator. With your own LLM key (BYOK) you get the best handling of context and plurals in every language. Whatever the language, each translation is checked before it's written, and you can review and edit translations in Results.

Language Codes

Babelize uses ISO 639-1 codes. The dashboard's language picker lists the base languages above. The CLI and .babelize/config.json also accept region and script tags, for example:

CodeDescription
enEnglish (General)
en-GBEnglish (UK)
pt-BRPortuguese (Brazil)
pt-PTPortuguese (Portugal)
zh-CN / zh-HansChinese (Simplified)
zh-TW / zh-HantChinese (Traditional)

Right-to-Left (RTL) Languages

RTL languages (Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu and others) are supported. Text direction is preserved in output files, and a babel's issues flag strings that may need a right-to-left check in your layout.
